Life is Sweet Blog Hop

Welcome to my little house! Are you coming from Philippa's blog? I hope you've been there and now let's take a little break before we move on.
Make
yourself comfortable ( cookies are in the oven! ).
May I introduce you to my family. My big brother,
myself ( Hi! ), my little brother, my Mom and my Dad.
We're glad you're here!
Well, I've already packed and I'm ready for our journey.
I have an idea! Let's go somewhere where the sun shines.
That would make my life sweeter right now.

Now when I showed you things that make my life sweeter: a place you can call home, family get together, travelings...let's go and see what's Lin been doing.

And just to make sure you're following our route, check this out:

I've been invited ( and accepted with joy ) in a worldwide blog hop, organized by Sandy, who gathered  quillers from all around the world. Join us on Saturday, January 29th at 08:00:00 EST or at 14.00h in Serbia. We start from the USA, Sandy's blog, and that follow the links to the next blogs through Canada, South America, turn right to Europe, than go to Asia, Africa, of course, and straight to Australia ). I can already see it's going to be fun.
OK. Have a nice trip!

Part III

Here she is.
My mother graduated.
Diploma
A chemist, first day at
work in laboratory.
What's wrong with
this test tube?!
Little bit of chemistry.
Like this...
Getting married. I think it's obvious that my mother is represented in red dress.
My father wears blue pants. He dressed up for his wedding; hat top and red bow tie.
YES!
I love the way light showed all the colors. It's not so clearly on the other pictures.
This is something like: Before!
And: After!

Part II

My grandmother's garden with
the hottest peppers and with
sweet cherry tomatoes
My mother as a little girl. School time.
AD with the date of my mother's birth
At the bottom I added ECG. A whole picture is supposed to be marked with the happy moments in my mother's life, every time her hart jumped out of happiness!
My mother leaving her village and going to school in Belgrade. These two events are separated with road sign, green strip, for village, and gray one as pavement in the city. At this road sign are words from our well known poem.
Now I have completed the second part of my picture. My family is gathered in our traditional dance, led by my grand-uncle, the First flag-bearer and also our national hero in WWII. From the left to the right, next to him, are: my uncles, my aunt, my grandfather and my dear grandmother. That little, cute, red, tiny shape in her arms that looks like a ladybug is my mother.

Part I

OK. This is the story: I got inspired by my favorite character Cica Glisa, my daughter's drawings and, the best game ever, The Fancy Pants by Bred Borne. I'm quilling this for my mother, it's supposed to be a gift for the Mother's Day. We have a plenty of time till 8th March, but this framed work is intended to be a big one, so...
I'll be posting as often as time allows me, later write about it ( if necessary ). And, now, let me introduce you to my family ( or part of it ).

Parking Place;)

First of all, I congratulate to all of you who celebrate Christmas and New Year by Julian calendar.
I don't quill these days. Actually, I started to knit a sweater out of extremely fine linen thread...I'm afraid it will take some time...
I made this "Parking Card" last year in March, just a few days after I've passed my driving test. It was fun, both ;)

Orchid

I should start preparing for the Mother's Day. This is my old work, the biggest one ( approx 14 inches high ). I made it almost a year ago. It's all made of paper except the base. I had to put plywood, just to be sure not to turn over.
Thanks for stopping by!

East and West

I made this card last spring when I heard the news about spectacular cherry blossom in our small village. Our farmers invited former Ambassador of Japan in Serbia to be their guest and to visit this village when cherries were blooming. I was really touched with this story, realizing how our people were considerate and how generous the Ambassador was when he accepted an invitation. And ever since then I plan to make some special gift card with cherry and plum branches putted together as two symbols of our countries. I'll show it when it's done.
This year, 39 hospitals in Serbia will receive medical equipment for breast cancer screening as a donation of Government of Japan. In past few years, I lost three of my family members out of this disease so I give all my hope that their precious gift will serve us well.

When I wrote first version of this post few days ago, it was supposed to be one cheerful post, but yesterday I got some really disturbing news, and, unfortunately, I need to make some big changes.
This "Paradise Bird" Card was my favorite one; I didn't plan to sell it or give it away. I just wanted to keep it for myself. But, last summer, I gave it to one special person, Mr. Dejan U., the owner of "deta" markets in my town. Like our people in BC Vancouver in Canada,  he accepted to take a part in humanitarian activity. We all wanted to collect contributions for Slobodan's transplants who needed new heart and lungs, but the amount was too high. Unfortunately, we and Slobodan couldn't make it.
I tagged Slobodan at my 2011 card on Facebook, and he liked it, but, unfortunately, he passed away 20minutes before midnight on New Year's Eve.
Here were sentences where I wanted to ask you to join our cause and while I was deleting them I heard a young girl at "News" ( who shared the same hospital room with Slobodan last summer ) and who also needed a new heart . I'm happy to hear that she is feeling fine, now.
And then, there was our Minister of Health who promised, again, that this January he'll sign some sort of contract which would provide much easier and faster transplantations for all those people who need them.
